Amy Harber
Trial Attorney
Amy Harber is a trial attorney at Whitlock Law, LLC. She represents the firm’s clients in Virginia personal injury, criminal and traffic defense, and civil litigation matters. With her litigation experience in Virginia District and Circuit Courts, she can advocate smartly and effectively for solutions to her clients’ legal dilemmas.
Amy joins Whitlock Law, LLC with a wealth of experience in both criminal and civil litigation. She served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in the City of Hampton from 2008-2012 and Loudoun County from 2012-2020. In that time, she prosecuted cases ranging in severity from traffic tickets to murder and everything in between. As a prosecutor, she also served as a regular guest legal instructor at different state and local community and law enforcement programs, and she was a founding member of the Loudoun General District Court’s Mental Health Docket.
In 2020, Amy joined Allstate Insurance Company’s Fairfax, Virginia legal office, and she served as a Senior Attorney there until the fall of 2024. At Allstate, she handled or assisted in all types of litigation matters, including bodily injury and property damage suits, automobile diminished value claims, wrongful death and infant settlements, contractual disputes, and fraud and coverage investigations. She collected more than $2 million in subrogation recoveries for Allstate and its Virginia insureds during her time with the company.
Amy grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Criminal Justice from the University of Richmond. She attended law school at George Mason University School of Law as an evening student and worked full time as the Assistant Director of the Spotsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Victim/Witness Program while pursuing her law degree. She graduated law school in December 2007 and became licensed in Virginia in April 2008. Amy is licensed to practice in Virginia state courts and federal courts in the Eastern District of Virginia. In addition, she was selected as a substitute judge for Loudoun County, and she was sworn in to this position in November 2024.
Amy is also heavily involved in her local community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer of the Loudoun Bar Foundation, a non-profit organization that sponsors scholarships and enrichment programs for Loudoun residents. She also is an active member of the Loudoun County Bar Association and the Loudoun Chapter of the Virginia Women’s Attorney’s Association, and she previously served in leadership roles within Loudoun County’s and the Town of Leesburg’s boards and commissions. In her spare time, she tries to get as much fresh air as possible, drinks lots of coffee, and loves adventuring to new places near and far with her friends and family.
